Mother’s Day Wreath

  Hello everybody!
Happy Mother’s Day, I hope you all enjoyed your day. This week’s blog is very very exciting, it’s a DIY! Usually when I hear “DIY” I get worried that I won’t be able to get the supplies or I won’t be able to make it. If any of you are the same, this is still the perfect blog post for you as the wreath is easy to make.

 Time: 45-60 mins
 Difficulty: Easy-medium
 Total cost: £13 / 15€

 What I used:
▪️ Twig wreath - medium sized
 ▪️ Wool
 ▪️ White nylon string
 ▪️ Pearls
 ▪️ White fake rose stems x 2
▪️ Medium sized fake coloured roses
▪️ Small sized fake coloured roses
 ▪️ Small wooden heart shapes
▪️ Super glue (you could also use a hot glue gun)
 ▪️ Pom poms (optional, I didn’t use)

 Method:
 1. Knot the wool around one of the twigs on the wreath, this will keep the wool in place. Wrap the wool tightly around a section of the wreath making sure there are no gaps, once you’ve finished wrapping secure it like you did at the beginning.

 2. Cut a piece of the white nylon string making sure it is long enough to wrap around the wool part of the wreath. Knot the string around one of the twigs on the wreath and begin to bead on the pearls one by one. Wrap the string over the wool section tightly and position the pearls, then repeat this until you reach the end of the wool part and secure it like you did at the beginning.

 3. This is probably the hardest part of this DIY, fixing on the big roses. To do this, decide where you want your roses to be, once you’re happy with the placement, wrap the stem of the rose around the wreath so it blends in and doesn’t stick out. If your roses are like mine where the stem is very stiff, they may be awkward to twist so just be patient. Once your stem is twisted around the wreath glue the bottom of the rose and top of the stem to make sure it is safely in place. Repeat this for your next rose.

 4. With your medium sized roses, glue them to any areas of the wreath you want covering up. If they have a wire stem just cut them off. Hold them down for a few seconds to make sure the glue has stuck. Repeat this for your smaller ones.

 5. I had a space on my wreath I wanted to do something with, so I glued down the small wooden heart shapes onto the wreath. Since the wreath is made out of twigs it can make it quite difficult to stick the hearts down, so position them first to see how well they will stay and where you need to apply glue. Once you’re happy with the placement, apply glue and stick down. Carefully hold the hearts to ensure they’ve stuck.

 6. This last step is optional. If you don’t want to hang your wreath you could put tall candles in the centre or just have it on a table for display. I want mine to be hanging so to make the hanger, get the wool and if you want to give it that tad more detail divide it into three strands, tie a knot at the top and begin to braid it. Once you’ve braided it all, tie it in between one of the twigs where it will be hanging from and if the loop is too long repeat this until the loop is at the length you want. And then hang!

That’s all for this weeks blog post! I hope you enjoyed! This was so fun to make and I already want to make another one. I think these would look so pretty at a wedding, baby shower.... the possibilities are endless. They also make the perfect gift! Perhaps I could make a business selling them? I’m so so so happy with the end product bearing in mind how quickly I made it and the cost of it all. And most importantly, my mum loves it too! If you make one please tag me on my Instagram or Facebook as I’d love to see your creations! I will see you next week for another blog post! Love you all!
  Byyeee!!!!
