September Playlist + Musical.lys

  Hello everybody!
This week's blog post is a "playlist and musical.lys" blog, I'm very excited to be doing another one of these kind of blogs because it's been so long since I last did one. I know I mention this in every blog with this theme, but, if you don't know what Musical.ly is, it is basically an app used for lip-syncing. You have a large variety of songs that you can lip-sync to and post them for all your friends to see.

This month, I am lip-syncing to the most popular songs on the app so here is the link which leads to the musical.ly compilation on my YouTube channel:
https://youtu.be/ZQkpH6ZMkas

Now I move onto the playlist, I do my playlists on an app called Spotify which most of you will have heard of. My Spotify username is @ISayBell.Blog if you want to follow me! The songs on the playlist are also on the video, but on Spotify you can listen to the full versions! So... the songs that are on my playlist are:
▪️ Help Me Help You by Logan Paul ft. Why Don't We
▪️ Boom Boom Pow by The Black Eyed Peas
▪️ Galway Girl by Ed Sheeran

Here is the link for that:

Before I end this blog post, I just want to say, in 3 days it will be the 2 year anniversary of IsayBell blogs! I am so grateful for the constant support. I can't believe it's already been 2 years on this crazy journey. Thank you so much and back to the outro...
That's all for this week's blog post! I hope you enjoyed! Let me know what your favourite song was in the comments below! If you want me to do a theme of songs also leave some suggestions in the comments below. I love you all so much! I will see you next week for another blog post!

Sultana and Orange Traybake

  Hello everybody!
This week's blog is a baking blog, yay! I'm so glad to be baking again. As you can see from the title, this month's bake is a sultana and orange traybake. It tasted absolutely delicious! If you'd like to find out how to make this super simple scrumptious traybake, carry on reading...

Makes: 15 big pieces
Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 40 minutes in total

Ingredients:
 Cake tin needed: a 30 x 23cm (12 x 9in) traybake or roasting tin
 225g (8oz) butter, softened
 225g (8oz) caster sugar
 275g (10oz) self-raising flour
 2 level tsp baking powder
 4 large eggs
 2 tbsp milk
 275g (10oz) sultanas
 Zest of 2 oranges
 Demerara sugar, for sprinkling

Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 180C/Fan 160C/gas 4. Grease the tin then line the base with non-stick baking parchment.
 2. Measure all the cake ingredients except the demerara sugar into a large bowl and beat until well blended. Turn the mixture into the prepared tin and level the surface.
 3. Bake for about 25 minutes then sprinkle the top with demerara sugar and return to the oven for a further 10-15 minutes or until the cake has shrunk from the sides of the tin and springs back when pressed in the centre with your fingertips. Leave to cool in the tin, then cut into pieces.

You can omit the demerara sugar topping and instead ice the cooked and cooled cake with orange glacé icing made with 225g (8oz) sifted icing sugar and about 3 tbsp of freshly squeezed orange juice (as shown in photos).

That's all for this weeks blog post! I hope you enjoyed! This bake was from a Mary Berry baking book I was kindly given recently, so expect a lot of new and delicious recipes coming up! This traybake tasted absolutely delicious and I personally recommend it with the orange glacé icing instead of the demerara sugar topping. I will see you next week for another blog post! Love you all!

Montreux, Switzerland | Part 2

  Hello everybody!
Before this blog post starts I just want to say, this post will be my 100th blog post! I seriously can't believe it! 100!!! I just want to say thank you for the continuous support that's kept me going! Anyway... today's blog is a part 2 to a post I did last week so if you haven't read that yet make sure you do before reading this one! It will make a lot more sense. Last time I finished at day three of my holiday, don't worry if you can't really remember what happened because I have a short reminder of where we left off last week...

Day Three summary:
On day three I went to Château de Chillon, followed by an afternoon at the pool. Dinner was at Chez Bilia (Indian restaurant), and then to a Gelateria which ended day three.

Day Four:
To start day four I went to play mini golf with the family! It was so fun and challenging and a great way to start off the day, I was extremely happy (and impressed with myself) because I got a hole in one! It was so amazing to play in surroundings next to the beautiful lake. I bought a salad lunch in a supermarket and had it on a bench over-looking the lake and the breath-taking surroundings. In the afternoon, I tried to go to the pool to relax knowing the weather was quite cloudy, but soon after I arrived, it started raining so I ran back up to the hotel room and chilled there whilst the rain was becoming a thunder storm! I wasn't really annoyed because it was actually nice to have some cozy, chill time to myself. We decided to go to the hotel restaurant for dinner where we enjoyed a three course meal with the dessert course being some delicious Movenpick ice-cream. Yum!

Day Five:
Luckily the sun returned which was a lovely surprise and we decided to hop on a bus to Vevey to go to the market called Marchés folkloriques de Vevey. There was lots to do, buy and see there. I bought some really special crystals that I love! There was local produce for sale, wine tasting, a lively atmosphere with a brass band performing and beautiful surroundings. As I was walking around I noticed a beautiful, old fashioned carousel that looked too good not to go on! I felt like I was in a Disney movie and I also got a few minutes of relaxation, good views, and good photos! I got the bus back to the hotel where I went to the pool since it was so hot. For dinner I went to the Montreux Jazz Cafe which was special because it was my last night. The food was outstanding; particularly the lobster mac 'n' cheese! Mmm, so good!!! That rounded off an amazing day five.

Return day:
Today was the day my family and I had to (sadly) leave Montreux. We got the train from Montreux to Geneva Central. We stopped off because we had some spare time between the next train journey so we had some lunch in a cool hamburger place called Edwards and then got the train from Geneva Central to Geneva Airport where we got ready to leave Switzerland. Like you do in most airports, after clearing security, I went shopping moving from shop to shop with my mum. She looked up at the departures board and saw that our flight was cancelled!! Everyone at this point was angry and confused as to why it had been cancelled. We eventually managed to get a flight, but it was not direct (there wasn't a direct flight until Thursday!). So we get on the plane to a different destination and find our seat, finally feeling relaxed and then a message comes through saying the flight has been delayed for 1 hour and a half!! Late at night, we eventually land and find a hotel near the airport for the night. That was a stressful end to day six.

Return day - attempt number two:
To start this unexpected additional day, we had breakfast in the hotel and we packed our things (again) and head off to the airport. We check our things in, have lunch, shop a little and then get on yet another plane. Luckily this time things go well. Before we know it our holiday in Montreux, Switzerland is over.

I had an absolutely amazing time in Switzerland everywhere we went. I will definitely recommend it to everyone! It was such an amazing experience and I would go back again, any day. I hope you enjoyed! I will see you next week for another blog post! Love you all!

Montreux, Switzerland | Part 1

  Hello everybody!
I'm very sorry for not posting last week, if you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you will know that I had a bit of airport stress last Sunday, as you will hear about next week in part 2 of this blog post. From the 17th to the 23rd of July I had my family summer holiday in Montreux, Switzerland for 7/8 days (kinda; read on to find out why...). I haven't done a travel blog in a year! So I thought I'd come back with a summary of my holiday in Switzerland...

Traveling Day:
On day one I was travelling until I finally arrived in Genève Aeroport (Geneva Airport) and from there I got the train. It was a direct train to Montreux from Geneva and the views were beautiful. I was always in awe looking at the shining lake. The train journey was one and a half hours. Once I arrived at the train station in Montreux I walked along the lakeside to the stunning hotel called Hotel Eden Palace au Lac. It was very hot so luckily there was a pool which was nice after a long morning of travelling. In the evening I went to one of the best restaurants I've ever been to, called Palais Oriental. They served middle eastern, Iranian and Morrocan food which all looked delicious but I had the Iranian menu which was mouth-watering! The setting was beautiful too because I had a breath taking view of the lake and the sunset.

Day One:
On my first full day I started the day by going up the funicular to a small village called Glion and had a walk around. It's all very high up on a mountain so the views were stunning. I spent about two hours looking around the village of Glion, but it was very hot that day so I went back down the funicular to Montreux and got a bus back to the hotel. For the rest of the day I went round the pool to relax and keep cool and I decided to go and swim in the lake, as I'd seen other people do it and it looked too good not to. When I got down to the lake it was very slippery, but the lake seemed warmer than the pool!! I spent about one hour swimming around and went back to the pool. It was soon dinner time so for that day I decided to go to La Brassiere where I had veal escalope which was absolutely divine. That ended a very enjoyable day one!

Day Two:
On my second day I went on the CGN boat, which was incredible, and sailed from Montreux to Lausanne and spent the day there. I discovered the town and had a picnic-lunch in a park. After having a very tasty lunch and feeding the birds in such beautiful scenery, it was time to head back to Montreux. The boat trip back was just as lovely as the first time. Once I arrived back in Montreux it was time to relax at the pool. For dinner I had a delicious pizza at La Rouvenaz which ended day two.

Day Three:
On day three I took a long, leisurely stroll to Château de Chillon which was breath taking, I always enjoy a bit of history on my holidays and this was certainly a good landmark to visit for that. A fact that I found very interesting about the castle - it was the inspiration for Prince Eric's castle in The Little Mermaid (1989 version)! Cool, right? Well, whilst exploring the huge castle I was thinking; how didn't people get lost in here? It was really that big! But every step I took in there, I was in awe. After finishing in the Château de Chillon I took the bus back to the hotel where I went to the pool to cool off after a long morning of exploring. For dinner I went to Chez Bilia an Indian restaurant where I enjoyed some exotic food. After that I found a really cute Gelateria and had some very delicious ice cream! And that rounded off day three...

...That also rounds off this blog post! I did have a 7 day holiday, including travelling, but I don't want to make this post any longer than it already is so I'll finish telling you all about my journey in part two! I hope you enjoyed! I will see you next week for another travel blog post! Love you all!
