Monthly Favourites

  Hello everybody!
This week’s blog post is a Monthly Favourites! I’m sure you’re all aware of what a Monthly Favourites is, but if not, it’s where I tell you about some of the things I’ve been loving this month! I won’t blabber on anymore, let’s get on with the post!

▪️Thomas Sabo turquoise charm bracelet + dream catcher charm - this was given to me as a gift and when I saw it I fell in love with it and knew it would be my go-to bracelet. I bought my first charm recently and it certainly won’t be my last.

▪️Primark gold hoop earrings - I recently started to like hoops so when I saw these in Primark I knew I had to get them! I love these because they’re a perfect size and I like the thick detail at the bottom of the hoop.

▪️Zara gingham dress - I’ve started having an obsession with anything gingham! Honestly, when I saw this dress in Zara I loved the design but I wasn’t sure on the shape of it. Once I tried it on I really liked it! This looks lovely paired with some Chelsea boots.

▪️Zara pink lace tie up blouse- I saw this in Zara and wasn’t sure how it would fit me but I love it! Baby pink is one of my favourite colours for clothing and I didn’t have any tops like it so I am really excited to wear it! I think it will look great paired with a denim skirt and whatever shoes you want!

▪️Parfois pink women clutch bag- It took me a long time to actually come to the decision to buy this bag. When I walked around the shop my eye was instantly drawn to this bag. I think it’s because it’s so different and I can pair it with almost every outfit.

▪️Kiko skin tone concealer 06 - I’ve been wanting a good concealer for a while and Kiko is one of my favourite makeup brands so I thought I’d try their concealer and I love it, it doesn’t look cakey but hides blemishes and hides some redness.

▪️Tiger Italian nougat- These taste absolutely incredible. I only have 1 or 2 per sitting since they can get quite sickly.

That’s all for this week’s blog post! I hope you enjoyed! You have probably noticed that this Months Favourites is slightly different. I said a bit about each item, let me know whether you prefer this to how I used to do them. I’d also love to know if there’s anything you’ve been loving this month in the comments! I will see you next week for another blog post! Love you all!

What Dads Like

  Hello everybody!
Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing Dads out there! This week’s blog post is all about you! There are some things that most Dads like and can talk about with each other for hours. But then, there are a few odd ones only your Dad will like. So for this week’s blog post I’ll be sharing things that most Dads like and a few unusual things that my Dad likes.

Generic:
▪️ Rugby and football- I feel most Dads are interested in these sports. If they’re not hardcore fans I think every Dad has a bit of interest in football at the moment, especially since the World Cup 2018 is happening right now.
▪️ Cars- I think this is probably the most common. I think that if any Dads see a nice car they all just turn and stare. I actually bought my Dad a card with and car on it!
▪️ Napping- I think this one is really funny because I never really thought of how true it is until now. Dads just love naps!
▪️ Gadgets- Most Dads all like trying to keep up with the newest gadgets whether that’s a new phone or a new smart watch. The thing is, if they buy anything like this they need help using it... all the time!

Things my dad likes:
▪️ Anything Italian- I’m not quite sure why he likes this, but you could find a fridge magnet with an Italian flag on it and my Dad would like it!
▪️ Andy Warhol- My Dad likes his artwork a lot. We actually went to an exhibition of his.
▪️ Suits- My dad likes getting dressed up so he enjoys wearing a suit. He actually has a collection of knitted ties!

That’s all for this week’s blog post! I hope you enjoyed! I hope all you Dads have enjoyed your Father’s Day! If your Dad has some unusual things he likes comment below! I will see you next week for another blog post! Love you all!

Review on Shawn Mendes: The Album

  Hello everybody!
This week’s blog post is something I’ve never done before. It’s an album review! I’m sure most of you know that two weeks ago Shawn Mendes released his third album! It’s the only thing I’ve been listening to for the last two weeks and have grown to LOVE the album. I thought I’d share my opinions with you about the album and express my love for it!

  Release date: May 25 2018

  Tracks:
1) In My Blood
2) Nervous
3) Lost in Japan
4) Where Were You in the Morning?
5) Like to Be You (feat. Julia Michaels)
6) Fallin’ All in You
7) Particular Taste
8) Why
9) Because I Had You
10) Queen
11) Youth (feat. Khalid)
12) Mutual
13) Perfectly Wrong
14) When You’re Ready

My 3 favourite songs on the album:
#1 Youth (feat. Khalid)- The lyrics in the song are so meaningful to me because in my opinion, they refer to bad things that are going on in the world, but it is defiant in its message about not taking our youth away. It’s message of strength makes me love the song so much. I also love the acoustic guitar in it too and the harmonies in the song are incredible.

#2 In My Blood. I think In My Blood is really special because the lyrics are personal. Everyone feels anxious and insecure sometimes, right? The electric guitar and drums give it a “rocky” feel which I usually wouldn’t like but the structure of the song makes it unbelievable. Some might say it is life defining. This is the kind of song I scream at the top of my lungs in the car!

#3 Mutual- I love this song because it’s very upbeat; whenever it comes on it makes me smile. I love the tempo of it. Simply uplifting!

I think the whole album is incredible and is a rollercoaster of emotions and styles. I really love that he sang high in lots of the songs because it sounds so amazing.

Chocolate Reese’s Pieces Cupcakes

  Hello everybody!
This week’s blog post is a baking post! It’s been so long since I made cupcakes, so today I have a deliciously scrumptious recipe for you! If you want to know how to make “Chocolate Reese’s Pieces Cupcakes” keep on reading!

  Makes: 12
  Prep time: 30 minutes
  Cooking time: 20-25 minutes

Ingredients
For the cupcakes:
175g unsalted butter, softened
175g soft light brown sugar
3 large, free range eggs
175g self raising flour
1tsp baking powder
4tbsp cocoa powder
2tbsp whole milk

For the frosting:
125g unsalted butter, softened
300g icing sugar
100g smooth peanut butter
2tbsp whole milk
50g plain chocolate, melted
1 large box of Reese’s Pieces 113g

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 175℃ fan and line a cupcake tray with 12 liners.
2. In a large bowl sift together the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder. Set aside.
3. Place the butter and sugar in an electric mixer and mix until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well between each addition. Add the flour mixture in one go ensuring all the ingredients are thoroughly combined. Mix the milk through the batter until smooth.
4. Fill the cupcake liners to ⅔ full and bake for 20 - 25 minutes or unti a skewer inserted into the cake comes out clean.
5. Allow to cool in the pan for five minutes before removing to finish cooling on a rack.
6. While the cupcakes are cooling, make the frosting.
7. Mix the butter in the bowl of an electric mixer until pale and soft. Add the icing sugar and the peanut butter and milk. Turn the mixer on low and gradually increase the speed. Whip for 5 minutes, if the frosting looks too stiff add a splash more milk until you reach a nice piping consistency.
8. Once the cupcakes have cooled fill a piping bag, fitted with an open star nozzle, with the peanut butter frosting and pipe a cute swirl on each cake. Add a few Reese’s Pieces on top of each cupcake and then drizzle each cake with the melted chocolate.

That’s all for this week’s blog post! I hope you enjoyed! The end product from this bake was amazing and it was super easy to make! If you like Reese’s I would definitely recommend making these! I will see you next week for another blog post! Love you all!
